A Walk to Remember is a young adult novel by Nicholas Sparks, published in 1999. The story follows the romance between Landon Carter, a popular high school student, and Jamie Sullivan, the daughter of a Baptist minister.
Landon is a carefree and rebellious teenager who is more interested in partying and causing mischief than in his studies or relationships. However, he is forced to participate in the school play as punishment for his misbehavior and this is where he meets Jamie. Jamie is a quiet, unassuming girl who is also a member of the cast. Despite their differences, Landon and Jamie are drawn to each other and begin a tentative romance.
As their relationship deepens, Landon begins to see the world in a different way and becomes more sensitive and empathetic. He learns to appreciate the simple pleasures in life and to appreciate the people around him. Jamie, who is suffering from leukemia, teaches Landon about love and selflessness, and he becomes a better person because of her.
The novel is a poignant and heartwarming tale of first love, self-discovery, and the power of forgiveness. It is a story of how two people from very different backgrounds can come together and find true happiness. A Walk to Remember is a timeless classic that will appeal to readers of all ages.

Jamie does not catch Eric's mocking tone and loves the idea. Jenkins, she tells Landon that all she wants in the future is to get married in a church full of people and to have her father walk her down the aisle. The Christmas Angel is The Christmas Carol but Hegbert changed the script to have Angel's instead of ghosts. When Landon is threatened by Liu, Jamie comes to Landon's aid, to his praise. His father is a genial, charismatic congressman. An interesting sequence of events cause the popular Landon Carter to ask the misunderstood unpopular Jamie Sullivan to the Homecomming Dance which leads them into a suprising romance.
This book was absolutley amazing. It is only when Jamie becomes very weak and ill that Landon learns miracles can happen. He does not participate in any extracurricular activities. A few weeks later Landon tells Jamie that he is in love with her and Jamie tries to deny it but says that she cannot love him because she is dying of leukemia. Jamie, on the other hand, could not be happier about her new cast mate. I loved how it struck the core that love can last forever. Jamie asks Landon to help her collect the bottles and cans she set out in a donation drive to buy presents for the orphans.
This book keeps you interested until the very end. Landon knows he loves Jamie and knows he would have wanted to marry her even if she had never been ill. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good love story, has ever been in love, or has some Kleenex at hand. Want to learn the ideas in A Walk to Remember better than ever? The following Sunday, Hegbert announces to his congregation that his daughter is dying. He spends as much time with her as he can and they both fall in love with each other. One day, while sitting next to Jamie while she sleeps, Landon comes up with an idea. And oddly enough, Jamie ends up with the female leading role. I will say, however, that Landon's growth stemmed organically from both specific events and his interpretation of them, as well as his growing love for Jamie. Carter is the mother of Landon Carter.
