The Sniper is a short story written by Liam O'Flaherty about the Irish Civil War. It tells the story of a Republican sniper who is positioned on the roof of a building during a battle in Dublin. The sniper is confronted with the moral dilemma of shooting a fellow Irishman who is fighting on the opposing side.
