The Pretenders is a novel by Jackie Chen that tells the story of two young women, Lila and Rina, who are struggling to find their place in the world. Both are recent college graduates, and they are trying to navigate their way through the challenges of adult life.

Lila is a quiet and reserved young woman who has always felt out of place. She grew up in a small town and always felt like an outsider, and she has never quite found her place in the world. When she graduates from college, she moves to the city to try to make a new start, but she finds it difficult to find her footing.

Rina, on the other hand, is outgoing and confident. She has always been the life of the party and has never had any trouble making friends. When she graduates from college, she moves to the city with big plans for her future. However, she soon discovers that the real world is not as easy as she thought it would be, and she starts to question whether she is really cut out for the life she has always dreamed of.

As Lila and Rina struggle to find their place in the world, they also find themselves drawn to each other. They become close friends, and they begin to rely on each other for support and encouragement. They also start to see each other in a different light, and they begin to question their own feelings towards each other.

The Pretenders is a poignant and thought-provoking novel that explores the challenges of growing up and finding one's place in the world. Through the experiences of Lila and Rina, readers are able to see the difficulties and triumphs of young adulthood, and they are left with a sense of hope for the future.

That kind of book you don't want to put down. Rafael spanking Paris absolutely cracked me up. I read this title without reading the synopsis, so the story was quite a surprise to me as it unfolded. . . You can almost feel the pages trembling with anger and pain, and I had no idea why. The story touches on: love, misunderstandings, depression and abuse.

You have to choose who you listen to. But picture two guys and five girls writing about their love lives and problems in a journal. There could be many possible themes for this story, but I'm not going to talk about one right now. It is definitely different to other stories I have read recently and I think, having finished it, I am more appreciative of the slow-burning story. After becoming obsessed with Lisi's Clique series and finishing it many years ago when the final book was released, I was very sad. I will fight for my honor and my right to do whatever i want to do that is not illegal but i wont turn my back on where i came from.

I liked the unpredictability and the fact that they highlighted issues that aren't often talked about. Also the other characters were just hilarious, I didnt want the story to end, I just wanted to watch them interact with each other! I read this because I needed a book with pictures for my Popsugar reading challenge. Wealth and power is one of the most important things for some people right now. I LOVED this book until it ended. I started to get slightly invested in some of the characters. I'm sure it took a while.

I liked that we can customize Ash's gender and pronouns too. Overall this is a well written, interesting, clever and multi layered slow burner and be prepared to be stunned in places. My personal favourite would have to be Shika Ash because of the fact I can romance my two favourites, plus it also allows me to access some of the minor world building details about Shika. He tends to forget that he came from a poor family and doesn't want to talk about it for he's embarrassed. Hitting on girls, hitting on boys, making friends, making enemies, establishing rivalries, all that insubstantial high school stuff. Yes, you got it Massie Block. How can you show without an audience? Antoni Book 20 of 200 books "The Pretenders" by F. . And Vanessa cares about her grades, I do too, but not as much. If there are going to be 5 characters, I want to know equally about all of them. Duffy irritated me the least.

The two of them and two other friends go to see the brother of Jasper who has proposed to holly to tell him about their engagement. The main plot of Cemetery Girl really gets going when Calexa witnesses a murder but is unable to go to the police, fearing that it would draw attention to herself, especially since her unknown would-be killer is still somewhere out there. A cliffhanger does not mean the same thing as randomly cauterizing your plot in the middle of the rising action, but no one bothered to tell this book. Nothing is resolved, and the shoe is just about to drop for all of the characters. This title is the first ever graphic novel published by them, and I was pretty thrilled when they sent me a copy. I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review at all. These issues for me are the main points that should be pointed out in this novel.

. It is only when she witnesses a murder that she cannot tell anyone about, and is possessed by the soul of the dead girl, that she actually has to come out of the shadows. This is a fascinating debut, so well written. And, goodness gracious the soundtrack! It builds and builds and builds and then HAH, NOPE, YOU GET NOTHING. Sure there was some flirting and maybe a few kisses here and there, but I'm very surprised because this is written by The Lisi Harrison- master of making girls' hearts squirm.

I found myself emulating the same big smile that was plastered on Ash's face most of the timejust out of sheer enjoyment of the interaction between the characters. Because I really really want to know what happens!!! The novel opens with an act of shocking violence as a man named Edmund takes a sledgehammer to a playhouse in a suburban garden in an affluent London suburb. I believed her characterization even if it was something I feel repelled by. He was a potential revolutionary, but his courage and wisdom were slowly going away as he grows more and more like the elite who don't really care about the country. I admit I'm curious to find out who Calexa really is, what happened to her, and where she's come by these abilities. I'm going to try to reveal the main issue in this novel.
