Mikey and her siblings went to live with his brother, a former investment banker, who, after a messy divorce, had returned to university to study psychology. She perhaps likes him, too, but he is so mired in self-abasement that he cannot declare his love, and he bitterly looks on as she keeps company with another man from the office. To decide whether it will be a good fit for a particular child requires visiting the school; once a decision falls outside normal standards of academic attainment, it is inevitably the case that recommendations become subjective.
