In the 1920s, Pepsi-Cola faced fierce competition from Coca-Cola, which was already a well-established brand. In an effort to differentiate itself from its rival, Pepsi-Cola began targeting a younger, more modern audience and began using slogans such as "The drink for those who think young."
In the 1930s, the company introduced its first canned drinks, which helped to increase its distribution and sales. During this time, Pepsi-Cola also began using celebrity endorsements in its advertising campaigns, featuring famous figures such as movie star Joan Crawford.
