The picture shows two boys carring small logs suitable for use in the woodstove in the background; the nearer boy is barefoot and the farther one whose feet are not in the picture wears a yellow hat.

The cooking was generally very good and in many cases, the child returned with many fond memories and some added weight. The cover is olive green book cloth with gilt ink titles and white frilly ink ornaments encircling an oval profile illustration inset of whom we can only assume is Aunt Mary. However, there was some additional damage to the book jacket that may have been the fault of the postal service, due to the book being shipped in a thin mailer.
