Vu earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral and Orchestral Conducting from The Claremont Graduate University, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting and a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from California State University, Northridge. Thirty-seven choir members from both colleges then joined the the orchestra on stage and performed three songs by composer Franz Schubert, which was conducted by Elliot Jones, a choir and voice professor at SAC.
