After hesitantly accepting "The Pigman's" offer of going to the zoo, a friendship begins to blossom between the three of them. She was identifying with teenage angst that we didn't even know we had yet. I know this was supposed to be one of those books that teaches you about compassion, and taking responsibility for your actions, but to be quite honest all I can remember learning is how to throw cherry bombs down a toilet, and that is just a shame. You know the type; The almost patronizingly short, incredibly dull and soon forgotten piece of drivel that stands in the way of the books you actually WANT TO READ this summer. Then she raised her arm and slapped me once across the face. Pignati the next day and say that they will help him clean up, but he says that he already has.
Conlan is interested only in stocks. I thought the relationship between the kids and the pigman was strange, unhealthy, and unrealistic. A reviewer that I respect says that the kids are to blame for Pignati's death. My sister picked up the bomb and started reading the directions. The author uses the "truth of art" to convey, with great power, the importance of personal responsibility, of considering and taking seriously the possible consequences of our actions, of compassion and care for our fellow humans. John held the ladder steady while I climbed up and lifted the door. I doubted if there would be any real treasure.

John and Lorraine first lie to him, saying that they are part of a charity company. Pignati's only friends before John and Lorraine is a baboon at a local zoo named Bobo. Whether it is Lorraine afraid to stand up against John, or John afraid to stand up to his friends, the main characters are reluctant in speaking their true emotions. Lorraine's friend rips Conchetta Pignati's wedding dress in a drunken accident after putting it on. I could not fathom recommending this to anybody, no child or adult or elder.
