Pt Usha, also known as "The Payyoli Express," is a retired Indian track and field athlete who is widely considered one of the greatest runners in the history of Indian sports. Born on June 27, 1964, in the village of Payyoli, Kerala, Usha began her athletic career at a young age and quickly rose to prominence on the national and international stage.

Usha first gained recognition in 1979, when she won a gold medal in the 200 meters at the National School Games. She went on to win numerous national championships and set several national records in the following years. In 1984, she became the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Olympics, finishing fourth in the 400 meters hurdles at the Los Angeles Games.
