Mockingjay, the third and final book in the Hunger Games trilogy, picks up where the second book left off, with Katniss Everdeen and the other rebels having just won the war against the Capitol. However, the victory is a bittersweet one, as Katniss has lost many friends and loved ones in the fighting, and the country of Panem is left in ruins.

As the Mockingjay, the symbol of the rebellion, Katniss is expected to play a crucial role in the rebuilding of Panem and the creation of a new government. However, she is hesitant to take on this responsibility, as she is still grieving and struggling to come to terms with all that has happened.

Despite her reservations, Katniss agrees to become the Mockingjay and help lead the rebuilding efforts. Along the way, she faces many challenges, including the difficult task of trying to unite the different districts of Panem and establish a new system of government that is fair and just for all.

As she works towards these goals, Katniss also grapples with her own personal issues, including her feelings for fellow rebel Peeta Mellark and her grief over the loss of her beloved mentor, Haymitch Abernathy.

Ultimately, Katniss is able to find a sense of closure and move on from the events of the Hunger Games, finding hope for the future of Panem and a sense of purpose in her role as the Mockingjay.
