Chuck steps in front of the knife, giving his life to save Thomas. The booming alarm that signals the arrival of a newbie in the Box sends all of the Gladers running toward the courtyard, anxious at its unexpected timing. The rescuers hurry the Gladers outside onto a bus. As rescuers drag her away, she shouts that Thomas will save them from the Flare. If exiting the elevator represents birth, then the Glade represents the next stage of life: childhood. On his way out of the forest, Thomas has a vomiting fit thinking of Ben. The final shot shows Thomas walking along the beach alone, holding the serum in his hands as he looks out into the distance.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018)
They get to the Loading Dock area from before and are attacked by Grievers again. They and The Right Arm resistance conduct a rescue operation where they retrieve other Immunes from a train, which is owned by WCKD, an organization responsible for capturing and experimenting on immune children. She kills him quickly rather than allowing him to suffer. In tolerating a friendship with the youngest Glader, Thomas gains insights that will become crucial for survival in his coming days in the Glade. There are different outer sections that open each day as the maze changes. Thomas is tried by the Gladers for breaking their rules and sentenced to a day in jail. Several traps are activated, forcing Thomas and Minho to leave.
