In "Eleven," by Sandra Cisneros, the main character, Rachel, is a young girl who is turning eleven years old. On her birthday, she reflects on the events of the past year and how her age has changed her perspective on the world.
As the story begins, Rachel is feeling anxious about getting older and the responsibilities that come with being eleven. She remembers a incident from the previous year when she accidentally left a carton of eggs in the sun and they all spoiled, causing her mother to scold her. This memory makes Rachel feel guilty and immature, as if she is not ready for the challenges of growing up.
Throughout the day, Rachel experiences a series of small disappointments and frustrations, such as having to wear her older sister's hand-me-down shoes and being left out of a game at recess. These incidents contribute to her feeling of inadequacy and insecurity.
However, as the day goes on, Rachel begins to have moments of clarity and insight. She realizes that she has the power to choose her own attitude and to take control of her own life. She reflects on the things that she has accomplished, such as learning to swim and becoming a better reader, and starts to feel proud of herself.
At the end of the story, Rachel's perspective has shifted. She feels more confident and capable, and is ready to embrace the challenges of growing up. She even finds the courage to stand up to her older sister, who has been bossing her around all day.
Overall, "Eleven" is a story about a young girl's journey towards self-awareness and empowerment. Through her reflections on the past year and the events of her eleventh birthday, Rachel learns to value herself and to believe in her own abilities.

Sam's father went missing and is not "found" until later in the series. He manages to get his revenge against Five during the game. Henri gradually relaxes as John becomes more adept. John survives, though he is very weak, and the Mogadorians are defeated. What do you do? We have a new ally who knows their weaknesses. He also uses his pipe-staff Joust to kill off a Piken easily and effectively. It later manifests into a resistance of heat and fire, and can develop into fire manipulation and generation.
